Skyline

Silhouettes in the LA night sky
Staring out at the city skyline
While I'm driving up the 101
Driving through the city streets
And all the memories of you and me
They come flooding in all at once
They come flooding in all at once and hit me like
Every night I close my eyes
And I think about all those LA nights
Drinking whiskey in your bed
A vanity mirror and a dresser drawer
And a Killing Joke tee shirt on the bedroom floor
You're trying on your thrift store dress
If you should think of me
In a rush of painful memories
Just know that I'm sorry
If I should die tonight
Never again to look into your eyes
Just know that I love you
Oh I never stopped loving you
And every time I think of you my heart goes -
People say as time goes by
You only tend to remember the good times
Well, I remember the good and the bad
And even if I knew what I know now
I know still I'd fuck it up somehow
It'd all be the same in the end
If you should think of me
And all those painful memories
Just know that I'm sorry
If I should die tonight
Never again to look into your eyes
Just know that I love you
Oh, I never stopped loving you
And every time I think of you my heart goes
If you should think of me
And all those painful memories
Just know that I'm sorry
If I should die tonight
Never again to look into your eyes
Just know that I love you
If you should think of me
And all those painful memories
Just know that I'm sorry
If I should die tonight
Never again to look into your eyes
Just know that I love you
Oh I never stopped loving you

Sunshine miserable sunshine
I can't stand the sight of your stupid face
Everyday you bear it all without any discretion
Shining all your light on my innate imperfections
You mark another day that I'm closer to death
Moonlight beautiful moonlight
I die a bit inside whenever you go away
Every night I fall in love in with your lunar complexion
And the dreams that you inspire like a naked reflection
Of the complicated feelings that I carry inside
Sunshine, miserable sunshine
I can't stand the sight of your stupid face
Moonlight, beautiful moonlight
I die a bit inside whenever you go away
I die a bit inside whenever you go away
I die a bit inside whenever you go away

Serenade
04:03
|
|||
A song of despair and the voice of an angel
Flooding the night like visceral glow
Feel like I could fall into a million pieces
When I hear the serenade of the lovesick ghost
They say that she comes around every so often
Looking for something that she left behind
I want to tell her so badly that I know the feeling
When I hear her music echoing through the night
There's a pain running deep, one that we all know
A special kind of light running through the heart and soul
A sentimental feeling that I can't describe
But I know it when I see it in another's eyes
I see it in the void of the lovesick ghost
A heart-broken apparition with a fading glow
Who died long before she ever lost her life
The day she lost her love, she died slowly inside

I know you think it's strange, I could stare at you for days and dream about a life with you in a million different ways. If I flew across the ocean just to be with you… I got nothing left to live for and you've got everything to lose. Baby I'm so tired of this awful town, all the scene politics and the static sound. The cheap shot rumors and the who knows who, the fake friends, dead ends, who fucked who. It’s got me feeling all dead inside, every misstep, social suicide. I’d give it all away to be done and through and start a whole new life with you.
